Ammonium polysulfide leaching arsenic-bearing gold ore and lean ore

Gold extraction and recycling have long been of interest. Today, the process is quite complex and tends to be more economical and process-lower in the processing of ore grades.

Currently, the generally accepted process for processing gold ore is cyanidation. However, due to the formation of insoluble arsenic compound, a large amount of cyanide consumed. Therefore, it is not economical to treat arsenic-containing gold ore in this way.

Arsenic in arsenic-bearing gold ore can be removed by volatilization in the form of arsenic trioxide or arsenic trichloride. However, the toxicity of arsenic trioxide, arsenic chloride and sulfur dioxide during the roasting process caused almost uncontrollable pollution problems.

The new polysulfide leaching method developed by the South African Mineral Processing Research Laboratory has the following advantages:
1 Choose high leaching efficiency;

2 No pollution.

This new method is: arsenic-bearing gold ore 25 °C Leaching was carried out under normal pressure using an aqueous solution containing 40% ammonium polysulfide. Gold (if present, antimony, and antimony together) is selected leached, the arsenic remaining in the residue. In the laboratory, experiments with specific ores have shown that in this way, more than 80% of the gold in the concentrate can be extracted .

Gold can be recovered by adsorption of gold from the solution with activated carbon or by precipitation of gold from the solution by heating and steam heating. This is related to other leaching ingredients in the ore. The ammonium and hydrogen sulfide obtained at this time can be regenerated into ammonium polysulfide and returned to leaching.

This method has been fully evaluated by JCI Laboratories, and a five-ton daily test workshop has been built at the Murchison Graflot plant in South Africa. Recovery of barium and gold from arsenic-containing tailings confirmed laboratory data.

Test work: A detailed flow chart of a specific ore can only be determined after the test has been carried out in the laboratory and the solubility of the various components has been determined. For this purpose, twenty kilograms ore or concentrate sample, two kilograms.
