Chrysler launches new models to attract younger consumers

Gasgoo Motors Chrysler plans to attract younger consumers by introducing a series of more dynamic Dodge models.

Dodge CEO Ralph Gilles said: "The current average age of Dodge consumers is 50. We hope Dodge's average age of future consumers can be reduced by 10 years."

Chrysler hopes to increase car sales by recreating the image of major brands. Chrysler expects to conduct an IPO in the second half of this year. Fiat holds a 25% stake in Chrysler.

Chrysler will launch 16 new and modified models in the first quarter, and will increase its marketing investment by 70% this year.

During the Detroit auto show, Chrysler displayed five models, including the new Dodge Charger SRT8 and Grand Caravan R/T models. The redesigned Dodge Caliber model will be available in 2012.
