The total output value of metal processing machines was 6.53 billion euros, a year-on-year increase of 39%. The total output value of metal-cutting machine tools was 4.73 billion euros, an increase of 46% year-on-year; and metal forming machines 1.8 billion euros, a year-on-year increase of 25%. The total production value of machine tool components was 1.69 billion euros, an increase of 31% over the same period of last year, and the total maintenance value of assembly maintenance was 750 million euros, an increase of 23%.
In the first three quarters of 2011, new orders from the German machine tool industry increased by 74% to EUR 12.51 billion, of which domestic orders were 4.24 billion EUR, which was a year-on-year increase of 71%, and foreign orders were EUR 8.27 billion, an increase of 76%.
In addition to assembly maintenance, in the first three quarters of 2011, the total value of German machine tools was 8.22 billion Euros, a year-on-year increase of 38%; exports were 5.61 billion Euros, a year-on-year increase of 35%, and imports were 1.99 billion Euros, an increase of 48%; domestic consumption was 4.6 billion Euros. In 2011, the average annual capacity utilization rate of the German machine tool industry was 93.8%, which was 95.5% in the month of October; the average annual percentage of non-delivery orders was 9.3%, and the month of October was 9.5%.

German machine tool industry is operating well in the first three quarters of 2011
The latest data released by the German Machine Tool Association shows that in the first three quarters of 2011, the total output value of German machine tools was 8.97 billion Euros, an increase of 36% year-on-year, while the total production value of machine tools for the year decreased by 3% year-on-year.
