According to the Associated Press reported on February 3, General Motors plans to invest in two plants in Tennessee and Michigan, with a total of $47 million. The powertrain plant in Bay City, Michigan plans to spend $20 million on future engine projects. The plant has 380 workers producing parts for Chevrolet, Buick, GM and Cadillac vehicles.
The investment in the two plants is part of a plan announced by GM in January to invest $1 billion in US manufacturing.
