How to Reduce the Engine Oil Consumption of Special Vehicle Diesel Engines

The normal consumption of special-purpose diesel engine oil generally accounts for 0.7% to 2.5% of the diesel consumption. If this value is exceeded, it indicates that the diesel engine consumes too much oil.

Excessive engine oil consumed by a special-purpose vehicle diesel engine has three main reasons: First, the cylinder sleeve piston group falls into the combustion chamber; second, the engine oil falls into the combustion chamber along the gap between the valve and the conduit; and third, it leaks oil from other sealing locations. The following measures can reduce the consumption of oil.

First, use new energy-saving piston rings, especially oil rings, to increase the scraping power and prevent the oil from falling into the combustion chamber. After the cylinder liner is worn, repair it in time. If necessary, replace the cylinder liner, piston ring and piston.

Second, often maintain negative or zero pressure in the crankcase to prevent positive pressure. Single-cylinder diesel engines can be equipped with negative pressure valves, and multi-cylinder diesel engines can be equipped with filter-type vents.

3. Replace the valve guide tube after it has worn out to prevent the oil from falling into the combustion chamber along the valve rod.

Fourth, the use of sealed adhesives, can play the role of sealing, leak-proof, fastening and blocking gaps, to prevent the leakage of oil. If the seal is damaged, replace it in time.

Fifth, do regular oil changes. When the engine oil becomes thin or aging loses its lubrication effect, new oil must be replaced in time.
