On May 24, Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, Hejin Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government of Shanxi Province announced through the local media that the verification of the “Historical Status of Shanxi Hejin Branch-level Officials was promoted to the post of director after being warned by the party†verified that Xue Xinmin’s original post was verified. The Secretary of the Party Committee of Louzhen was relocated in February 2012 to the director of the Housing and Urban Construction Bureau of Kawazu City.
According to media reports, the 45-year-old Xue Xinmin had made a mistake to report a bachelor's degree in order to join the party or promote himself, to forge a specialised archive, and to fill in different dates of birth for 11 times. After being “seriously warned†by the party, the politicians did not fall or rise after being disciplined. They were promoted from the secretary of the township party committee to the director of the Housing and Urban Construction Bureau of Kawazu City.
After the matter was revealed on the 23rd by the media, the Hezu City, Shanxi Province immediately established an investigation team composed of the Department of Organization and the Disciplinary Inspection Commission and other departments to intervene in the matter.
It is understood that during the period when Xue Xinmin served as Secretary of the Party Committee of the Loulou Town, there were reports of his age and academic qualifications. The Yuncheng Disciplinary Committee investigated the matter from June 22nd to July 6th, 2010.
After investigating, Xue Xinmin’s file has different records of birth time. The brokerage inspection committee and related departments verified that the time of their birth was September 20, 1967. Xue Xinmin was a junior high school student when he joined the work, and later received Xi’an Finance. College diploma, Xi'an Foreign Business Studies College Correspondence Bachelor diploma, confirmed by the Shaanxi Provincial Higher Education Self-Study Examination Committee and the Higher Education Student Office, its specialization diploma is a fake academic qualification, and undergraduate education is not recognized by the state.
The Hejin Municipal Party Committee Organization Department rectified Xue Xinmin’s academic qualifications on January 18, 2011, and identified it as a junior high school education level. In view of the problem of Xue Xinmin's changing age and education fraud, the Standing Committee of the Yuncheng Commission for Discipline Inspection studied on December 5, 2010 and decided to give severe punishment to Comrade Xue Xinmin.
