When charging

For electric cars, the battery is equivalent to its "heart" and controls the driving force of the car. In the charging process, the owners need to be particularly careful about the following points.

First of all, the battery should not be overcharged or over-discharged. Xiao Bian had previously learned from relevant experts that overcharging and discharging of batteries would reduce their service life. Overcharging will cause the battery to heat up. In serious cases, it may cause explosion and other dangers. While driving, if the power meter indicates the red light area, the driver needs to stop the operation and charge as soon as possible, otherwise the loss rate of the battery will increase greatly. It is understood that the average battery charge time is about 10 hours, to control the charging time, if the battery temperature exceeds 65 degrees, you should stop charging.

Second, it's best to charge every day. For many commuters, it may be sufficient to charge the car once every two or three days. However, there are experts who recommend that you don't plan to save time and charge every day, so that you can make the battery in a shallow cycle, which is more conducive to prolonging the service life.

Finally, attention should also be paid to the poor contact of plugs at both ends of the charging cable. Poor contact can cause the plug to heat up. Once the heating time is too long, a short circuit may occur, which will damage the charger and the battery. Therefore, the owner still needs to check in time and replace the connector in time.

Driving

When the electric vehicle starts and goes uphill, it is necessary to avoid slamming the throttle and accelerating the drive as much as possible because a large-current discharge will be formed during this process and the performance of the battery will be damaged. Especially in the case of manned vehicles, more attention should be paid.

When stopped for a long time

When stopping for a long time, there are two points that require special attention.

First, it should avoid losing electricity. Unlike traditional gasoline vehicles, electric cars have their own “unique taste” for the state of parked vehicles. If they are used for too long, they will “rebel”. The principle is this. When the vehicle is de-energized and deactivated, the battery is prone to sulphation, blocking the ion channel, resulting in insufficient charging and decreasing battery capacity. Therefore, when the electric car is idle, it should keep its electric quantity active.

Second, deep discharge should be performed regularly. When the electric vehicle is almost out of power, undervoltage protection will automatically occur. However, during this process, its voltage is not stable, and it will also suddenly rise and fall, resulting in repeated occurrence of undervoltage protection. So at this time, once you drive again, you will have a lot of battery damage. Therefore, it is best to periodically discharge the battery deeply, completely discharge it, and then fully charge it, so that the battery will play a very good protection.
