Recently, OceanSaver, a supplier of ballast water treatment systems, said that the company has received a contract for ballast water treatment systems, which will provide ballast water treatment systems for two VLCCs that European ship owners are currently building on STX marine shipbuilding. The contract value was not disclosed.
According to OceanSaver, the company's Mark II ballast water treatment system combines patented electrodialysis disinfection with filtration, with a flexible mounting system that fully complies with key rules, standards and certification requirements. OceanSaver will provide Type II certified Mark II ballast water treatment systems that meet the requirements of the International Maritime Organization and the US Coast Guard US Army Standard.
It is reported that OceanSaver will deliver its Mark II ballast water treatment system in the third quarter of 2016.
