Tata will start production of the Land Rover Freelander SUV in India at the end of the year

Geester Automotive India's local automaker Tata has announced that it is ready for Freelander to launch a Land Rover luxury SUV in India at the Chikhli plant in Pune, India. Put into production.

Tata Motors stated that parts of the Land Rover Freelander SUV will be imported in bulk from the United Kingdom to achieve CKD assembly in India. Local assembly will be completed by the end of 2011 and will assemble all versions of the Freelander models.

It is understood that Tata Motors has sold a total of 200 Land Rover vehicles in the Indian market. The company plans to increase its market share through local production, and the Freelander 2 will be the first Land Rover model to be put into operation in the Indian market.

It is reported that the Chikhli plant in India was originally owned by Mercedes-Benz. Tata plans to produce 2,000 Land Rover vehicles at the plant each year.
