MacGregor is providing mooring and riser system services for floating LNG terminals
Recently, Cargotec's MacGregor Corporation has received a contract to provide mooring and riser systems for the Moheshkhali floating LNG terminal operated by Excelerate Energy.
Under the contract, MacGregor's contract is part of the construction, procurement, construction and installation of the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU), which mainly provides mooring and gas transmission systems, including onboard equipment and mooring connectors. It also provides assembly project management, procurement and a complete mooring and riser system.
MacGregor's system is expected to be delivered in the second quarter of 2018. Michel van Roozendaal, president of the company, said, "This is an important step in our strategy to expand into the FSRU market."
It is reported that Excelerate Energy operates the first LNG import terminal in Bangladesh and is expected to be operational in mid-2018.
