Pyrite resource profile

Our resources include pyrite sulfur, metal smelting flue gas sulfur recovery, oil and gas refining process for recovering sulfur and natural sulfur mine. Compared with the world sulfur resources, China's natural sulfur grade is low, the mineral layer is thin, the water permeability is poor, the mud content and the organic matter are high, so it is difficult to use; the majority of China's oil and gas has a lower sulfur content than the world average, and the sulfur resources in oil and gas are in China. small proportion of the total sulfur resources; metal smelting industry, relevant metal ores heavily dependent on imports, inadequate protection of domestic ore, resulting in the field of sulfur recovery mostly from abroad; and our sulfur iron ore resources in the world of richness In the first place, far ahead of other countries, pyrite is the most important source of sulfur resources in China.

Globally, the total amount of sulfur in the elemental sulfur of the evaporite and igneous rocks plus natural gas, petroleum, oil-bearing sandstone and sulfide metal ore is about 5 billion tons. The sulfur contained in gypsum and anhydrite is almost infinite. The amount of sulfur resources in coal , oil shale and organic-rich shale reaches 600 billion tons, but the recovery cost of these sulfur resources is high.

Since the reserves of sulphur in crude oil, natural gas and sulphide ore are very large, and most of the world's sulphur production comes from the recovery of sulphur from these fossil fuel processing, the supply of sulphur is sufficient for the foreseeable future. Since petroleum and sulphide ore can be processed at a distance from their origin, the sulphur production from processing is not included in the reserves of the country. For example, oil in Saudi Arabia is refined and processed in the United States. Therefore, the geological reserves of sulfur in various countries are not counted.

In the foreseeable future, there will be a steady increase in sulfur production in the world, and the increase will be mainly due to the recovery of sulfur from natural gas liquefaction in the Middle East and the expansion of oil sands in Canada, unless the development of these areas is limited due to the global economic downturn.
