What is jigging beneficiation

Jigging ore dressing - The mineral particle mixture is stratified and separated according to the density difference under the action of vertical pulsating medium flow, which is called jigging.

Bed layer - material is fed into the jig sieve plate to form a layer of material of a certain thickness.

Material stratification process

Under the action of the pulsating water flow, the materials are layered by density.

During the rise of the water flow, the bed is lifted loosely, the heavy minerals tend to shift to the bottom layer, and when the water flows downwards, the looseness of the bed decreases, and the movement of the coarse particles becomes difficult, and the bed becomes more and more. The tighter the tight, the finer mineral particles can move down through the gap, called the gap movement. The descending water flow stops and the stratification is temporarily stopped. Until the beginning of the second cycle, such stratified motion continues, and so on.

Finally, the densely-concentrated ore particles are concentrated to the bottom layer, and the small-density ore particles enter the upper layer, and the layers are separated by density, and the small-density ore particles enter the upper layer, and the layering is completed according to the density. This process is as shown in the figure. After the special discharge devices are respectively taken out, minerals of different densities can be obtained. Figure 1 Cycle loose and layered process.

The internal cause of stratification: the nature of the ore itself;

The external cause of stratification: alternating water flow.

Horizontal flow: It has certain influence on the stratification of the ore particles, but mainly plays the role of moisturizing and transporting materials.
