It is reported that Beijing Rapid Transit Line 2 was opened on July 31, 2008 and is the second BRT line in Beijing. The line is east-west, from Yangzha in Tongzhou District in the east and Chaoyangmen in the west. The whole line is about 16 kilometers, with 21 stations in total. At present, the first batch of five 18-meter dual-source trolley buses have been put into trial operation in the form of “additional vehicles”.
The car adopts lithium-ion power battery technology, and has longer endurance. It can travel off-line for 8 to 10 kilometers under normal road conditions. For passengers, the new vehicle is also more user-friendly in design. The car uses a low-floor structure to facilitate passengers getting on and off the vehicle, as well as air-conditioning and air conditioning to improve ride comfort. According to the relevant person in charge of the tram branch, in order to ensure the operation of the new tram, the company carried out a special transformation of the operating line, built a new two-box transformer power supply system, set up a 14-pair-to-km contact line network, and laid a cable of 26,860 meters. At present, the pre-renovation work of the "oil-to-electricity" erecting network, planting poles, laying cables, vehicle commissioning and wiring has been completed, and the vehicle GPS dispatching system and card swiping machine are in place. "We have trained a number of tram drivers. After the follow-up personnel have arranged, the trams will be in place."
It is understood that after the "oil-to-electricity" replacement work is completed in the rapid transit 2 line, the number of Beijing trolley buses will reach 24, with a line length of 341 kilometers. At present, the rapid transit line 3 has completed oil-to-electricity conversion, and the rapid transit line 1 on the south central axis is also undergoing oil-to-electricity work, and more than half of the vehicles have been replaced by trams.
